Privacy policy
This policy describes how Mirage Capital Ventures FZE ("we") handles personal data in connection with the Tabulo application and the tabulo.cc website.
1. Data controller

2. The Tabulo application
Tabulo runs entirely on your device. Gradebooks (school years, classes, students, grades, notes, reports) are saved in files that stay on your computer or in the cloud service you chose (for example iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive). We do not access, receive or store these files. The app requires no account and shows no ads.
Anonymous usage statistics (optional). On first launch the app asks whether to send anonymous usage statistics to Google Analytics 4 through the Measurement Protocol; you can change your choice at any time in Settings. If you consent, only the following are sent: app launches, version, operating system, language and the number of reports generated, together with a random installation identifier that is not linked to your identity. Names, grades, notes, reports or any other gradebook content are never sent. Google processes these data under its own policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
When processing student data, the teacher or the school acts as data controller under the applicable law (in Europe, the GDPR): it is your responsibility to use the app in line with your institution's rules and data-protection laws.
3. AI-generated reports
The optional "Reports" feature sends to Anthropic, PBC, through the API key you entered, the data needed to write the report: the student's name, grades, tags, dates, notes and averages for the selected subject, plus any instructions you added. Data are sent only when you press "Generate". Anthropic's processing is governed by its terms and privacy policy (anthropic.com/privacy). We do not receive or store the content of these requests. If you do not want to share data with an external service, do not use this feature.
4. The API key
On Mac and Windows the API key is stored encrypted on the device (macOS keychain or Windows data protection); on iPad and iPhone in the app preferences. It is never transmitted to us.
5. The tabulo.cc website
The website is static and hosted on Amazon Web Services infrastructure, which keeps standard technical server logs (IP address, date and time, requested page) for security purposes, retained according to the provider's rules. It stores your chosen language and your cookie choice in the browser (localStorage).
Google Analytics. With your consent, given through the banner, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) to count visits and see which pages are useful: measurement cookies are set (_ga, _ga_*, up to 2 years) and data such as pages visited, device, language and a truncated IP address are sent to Google; data may also be processed in the United States under standard contractual clauses and the Data Privacy Framework. Until you accept, no analytics cookie is set and no data is sent. You can change your mind at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of the page. 6. Donations
Donations are handled by PayPal under its own privacy policy. We receive from PayPal only the data needed for the transaction (name, e-mail address, amount).
7. Your rights
For data we process directly (for example e-mail correspondence or donations) you may request access, rectification, erasure or restriction by writing to mirageconsulting@proton.me. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; the version in force is always the one published on this page, with its last-updated date.
